Thing 11: Tagging and Del.icio.us
Blogger calls tagging, labels, see blog for some labeling......
Tagging -
is a way to categorize items, like your bookmarks, Web pages, pictures, & posts.
del.icio.us is a collection of favorites - yours and everyone else's. You can use del.icio.us to:Keep links to your favorite articles, blogs, music, reviews, recipes, and more, and access them from any computer on the web. - Share favorites with friends, family, coworkers, and the del.icio.us community. - Discover new things. Everything on del.icio.us is someone's favorite -- they've already done the work of finding it. So del.icio.us is full of bookmarks about technology, entertainment, useful information, and more. Explore and enjoy.

Thing 10: Wikis-A Wiki is a collaborative Web Site & authoring tool that allows users to easily add, remove & edit content. Wikis make it easy for libraries to collaborate & share knowledge on subjects, book reviews, conferences etc. I have checked out the Book Lovers Wiki developed by te Princeton Public Library & thought it was great. I liked how the games were catorgized.
Also visited the Wiki Sandbox and edited under the initials AM.

Thing 9: Collaborating Documents
With a lot of different options 23thingsonastick has given us some information on working on collaborating projects and makeing things easier to share documents and work together online. There can be lots of confusion when sending attachments etc. Now with these options like Famous Documents, Zoho, and Google Docs things can be completed faster and with less of a hassle. Famous Documents allow you to actually go in and edit, enlarge etc the files shared between eachother. Zoho gives you instant collaboration and many individuals can work on a project simultaneously. Also allows import of programs. Google Docs is probably the one I would use the most with my work and that is because it provides documents, spread sheets an presentations on line which would be a neat tool to use here at the library.

Thing 8: Share Your Creations
I have a personal family blog that I use to keep friends and family updated with my children. I have enjoyed using different techniques, like flickr etc. The different ways to post pictures really adds lots of fun and variety to my blog. The one thing I don't particularily care for with this 23 things deal is signing up for all of these different tools. I am pretty happy with the ones where I have an account already so will not be signing up for more while working with Thing 8. I did enjoy visiting all of the different sights and am amazed at the possibilities out there!

Thing 7 - Web Communications Tools: which make person to person or group to group communication easier. Example of the communications I use are: email (I have two addresses, personal and work), internet, intranet, text. I am an avid email user both for personal use and work related. We have the intranet which is our region wide communication source. I think it is an excellent option for any organization to have. After going through the videos and articles I have found that there are ways that I can save time while using on-line communication such as, getting rid of emails I am not going to be answering. Answering the ones I want to right away instead of putting them off. I like text messaging a lot and do it quite frequently from my personal cell phone but do not use it here at work. I also think that Web conferencing use here at LARL would be an excellent way to save time and money. There is a lot of driving between libraries in the region and Web conferencing use could really cut down on driving time and milage expenses.
